Alanya Beach Vacation & Travel Guide

The sun-drenched resort town of Alanya on the Mediterranean Sea is one of Turkey's most popular holiday destinations. It's easy to see why with miles of unspoiled coastline, crystal-clear waters, and a temperate climate. The town is also home to many beautiful sandy beaches, many of which are located within easy reach of the town center.

One of the most popular beaches in Alanya is Alanya municipal beach. This wide, sandy beach is located right in the town center and is perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and relaxing. The beach is also famous for its range of beach amenities, including showers, toilets, a children's play area, and a range of restaurants and cafes.

It is located in the center of the city and is easily accessible by public transportation. The beach is wide and long, and plenty of activities keep you entertained. There are several restaurants and cafes along the coast and a few small shops. The water is clean and clear, and the sand is white and soft. The beach is also well-maintained, and there are plenty of lifeguards on duty.

Alanya municipal beach is best visited during summer and spring. During winter, storms and rough seas can make the water quite dangerous for swimmers, and the beach is usually closed.

While the beach itself is free, you'll need to pay for a beach chair and parasol. Sunbeds and parasols are available to rent from private entrepreneurs, who also sell drinks, snacks, and gifts. You can also find a range of restaurants and cafes within proximity to the beach.

You'll find Alanya municipal beach right in the heart of town, just a short walk from the center of Alanya, the Konyaalti Beach, and the Alanya Marina. The beach is also within walking distance of the central bus station, making it a convenient place to stop off while waiting for a bus to your next destination.

Alanya municipal beach is open daily from 8 am until sunset. Parking is available nearby, and the beach is easily reachable by bus or taxi.

How to get to the Alanya

The flight and its cost depend on where you are flying from. If there are no direct flights from your region, then, as a rule, the transfer will be at the Istanbul airport, where you will have to go through passport control. In mid-April, charter flights start operating, which at a price can be two or even three times cheaper than a regular flight, with no transfers. Such a flight can be ordered through websites on the Internet or travel companies, which, in the event of a small number of passengers on such a flight, can provide you with such a service. Moreover, the price of a charter flight depends directly on the available seats on the plane. The fewer passengers, the cheaper you can pay for the flight. For comparison, I can give an example of a flight from Chisinau airport. A passenger flight with a stopover in Istanbul costs about $ 200-220 one way. The most expensive non-stop charter flight costs the same, provided that all seats are full. But I often flew for 60 euros, that is, about 80 dollars, so estimate the difference. My friends flew from Moscow for $ 100, so compared to the price of a regular flight, the difference, as you can see, is quite significant.

Then you can get to Alanya by taxi, public or ordered transport. A taxi from Antalya airport to Alanya takes about $ 100-120. The ride takes about an hour and a half. Public transport is much cheaper, although it is a little longer and not so comfortable. To do this, you need to take bus number 600, which stops right in front of the exit from the local airport terminal and go to the parking lot of intercity buses heading towards Alanya. It takes about ten minutes to get there. The bus fare is two dollars. There you change to dolmush, that is, a regular bus going to Alanya. The fare is about 12 dollars and the ride is two to two and a half hours. Thus, one person will get 14 dollars to get to Alanya, which is quite economical compared to other methods.

There is another way to get from Antalya airport to Alanya, is to order a transfer. The cost of such a service depends on the number of people. If the number does not exceed three people, then the cost of the transfer will be $ 75, and for a minibus, for six people you will have to pay $ 95. Transfers provide transport for up to 22 people. There is also a VIP transfer service. You can order the service via the Internet, there are a lot of sites of such companies, and prices may also differ slightly.

You can, of course, get to Alanya by your own transport, but for this, you should take into account the prices for gasoline, which in the EU countries of Romania and Bulgaria costs one and a half euros per liter, and in Turkey itself, more than two euros per liter. From regions close to the Caucasus, it is more profitable to travel through Georgia, and many do it through Armenia and Iran, where the price of gasoline is currently $ 0.12 per liter, and diesel fuel is $ 0.03, unlike Turkey, where a liter costs more than two Euro. In addition to fuel, you will need transit or Schengen visas through the EU countries.

You can also get to Alanya by sea, as tourists from Western Europe do. In recent years, agreements on cooperation in terms of sea tourism were concluded between the seaport of Alanya and various European shipping companies, as a result of which they even had to double the berth area. Thus, Alanya last year was visited by more than 40,000 tourists from different countries, and this figure continues to grow.
