Putzu Idu is a long, narrow, open sandy beach in San Vero Milis in the province of Oristano, in western Sardinia. Putzu Idu is located between Mandriola and S’Arena Scoada beaches, surrounded by salt marshes. The sand is white with a gray tint, fine, the water is clear, warm, clean, azure, turquoise. The beach is one kilometer long, the sea is open, there are algae. The beach is wide – there is enough space for outdoor games: volleyball, beach tennis. The entrance to the sand, water is paved paths.
The depth increases smoothly, so the beach is well suited for families with children. You can get to Putzu Idu by a rented or private car. There is a small embankment, a large paid parking lot for cars, campers with facilities for people with disabilities. Tickets are purchased from a parking machine – cost 20 cents/hour. There is a bar on the beach, where you can eat delicious food, drink coffee, other drinks and rent a bike or boat. Putzu Idu is popular with locals and there are few tourists here.
There are big waves and strong gusts of wind. This is a great beach for fans of surfing, windsurfing, diving, snorkeling. You can rent a yacht, pedal boat. Boats leave from the beach to Mal di Ventre – the famous wild island, landing from the water. Fishing tourism is flourishing in Putzu Idu, boat trips to unusual reefs are made.
The period from May to October is the most favorable for visiting Italy in terms of climate. The temperature of the air and water become ideal for a classic beach holiday, for which they go to the coast of Italy. However, one should remember that the long summer with the scorching sun, warm sea, and pleasant sea breeze attracts crowds of tourists.

Leaving Riola Sardo, take the SS 292 road for about 2.3 km and then turn left towards Putzu Idu. After driving 11 km you will reach the beach.
From Putzu Idu, by sea, you can reach the island of Mal di Ventre (Isola di Mal di Ventre). from there you can take walks to the sea reefs and fishing tours.
