Balian Beach Vacation & Travel Guide

Balian is located in the village of Lalang Linggah, the name of which translates as “Wild Meadow”, which fully reflects the essence of this place. The specialization of rice cultivation has been assigned to this place for several centuries. Of course, due to the fact that one of the best surf spots in Bali is located here, Balian has been slightly modernized, but the essence remains the same. The same good energy, countless rice fields, and complete relaxation await you.

Balian Beach Weather

The best time to travel to Bali is May, June, July, August. These months have the least rainfall, the least rainy days, and not very hot.

Twice a year there is an influx of tourists to Bali. In December – January, Australians come to Bali to rest. And the Indonesians themselves prefer this particular time of year. July and August is the traditional season for Europeans in Bali. Prices go up sharply. On the other hand, July and August are the time of entertainment, holidays and lack of rain. It is best to visit Bali during the dry season, which starts in May and lasts until October. Those who prefer to arrange a vacation in July – August will experience dry and “cool” weather. There are also disadvantages – hotels are filled to capacity and their cost rises sharply. Balinese people live according to their own calendar, so not always holidays, but they are the most colorful, coincide with your vacation on the island of Bali. However, you will still not be left without entertainment and interesting impressions if you find out in advance what celebrations fall exactly at this time of year.

In our opinion, the best time to relax in Bali is May and June. And there are at least two reasons for this. Firstly, with some luck, the complete absence of rain, and secondly, quite reasonable prices. Besides, the choice of hotels is much wider. So, in these two months, you will be spared the tourist boom, as well as traffic jams, which, alas, exist here as well. September is a hotter month, but no less pleasant to relax. You can, of course, come in December and January, but then you have to take a chance – after all, the next month, February, is considered not only the hottest but also the wettest season. In addition, Australians and Indonesians themselves come on vacation in December.

How to get to the Balian

It takes about an hour and a half to get to Balian from Kuta. There will be many trucks along the road, the traffic is quite active, they go to the main cargo port in the west of Bali – Gilimanuk.

If you are riding a bike, I recommend wearing a face shield. As usual, it is more comfortable in a car (you will not breathe the exhaust of trucks), but on a bike, it is faster (it is more convenient to overtake long columns).
