How to get to the Playa Encuentro
Encuentro Beach is located in the north of the Dominican Republic, 4 kilometers from the village of Cabarete. The nearest airport to the beach is in Puerto Plata. It is located 35 kilometers from the beach and can be reached by car, taxi or bus. The road will take 40 to 50 minutes.
- By bus. Popular bus networks in the Dominican Republic are Caribe Tours (airport transfers) and Metro Buses (flights between major cities). They are equipped with air conditioning and comfortable seating. The journey from the airport to Sosua or Cabarete by bus will take about 25 minutes.
- By taxi. In addition to the official taxi and transfer services that will be offered to you at the airport, in some places in the Dominican Republic, there are also popular online taxi services – Uber and Gett.
- From Cabarete town to the beach. The walk to the beach will take about an hour, but it will not be very comfortable as part of the path leads through the stones. By taxi, the journey will take 10 minutes and will cost about 8 euros. You can use popular transport in the Dominican Republic – get by minivans – “gua-gua” or by taxi with other fellow travelers – “publicos”. On them, the road will cost you no more than 1-2 euros.
