Haad Rin Beach Vacation & Travel Guide

Haad Rin Nok, more commonly known as Haad Rin Beach, is a world-famous crescent-shaped beach located on the southeastern coast of the Thai island of Koh Phangan. The beach is well known for its Full Moon Party, held every month on the night of the full moon. The party attracts thousands of revelers from all over the world, who come to dance and party all night long.

But Haad Rin Beach is much more than just a party destination. This beautiful stretch of sand is also perfect for relaxing, swimming, sunbathing, and enjoying the stunning views of the Gulf of Thailand.

The beach itself is stunning, with its white sand and clear blue water. It’s the perfect place to relax and soak up the Thai sun. There are plenty of sun loungers and parasols available for visitors to use, and there are also a few restaurants and bars on the beach.

If you’re looking for a more active holiday, plenty of activities keeps you busy. Haad Rin is a great place for snorkeling, as there are many reefs located just offshore. There are also plenty of fishing opportunities, both from the beach and boats.

For those who want to explore the island, many hiking trails are located nearby. The most popular trail is the one to the summit of Khao Ra, the highest point on the island. The hike takes around two hours to complete, and the views from the top are breathtaking.

The History of Haad Rin Beach

Haad Rin Beach got its start as a small fishing village. But in the early 1980s, the village started to gain a reputation as a party destination for backpackers and travelers. The Full Moon Party was born out of this reputation, and has been held on the beach every month since 1985.

The Full Moon Party

The Full Moon Party is Haad Rin Beach's claim to fame. This all-night beach party is held on the night of, or the night before, every full moon. The party usually starts around sunset and goes until sunrise.

The party is known for its hedonistic atmosphere, with music, dancing, drinking, and drug use commonplace. The party has gained a bit of a reputation for being rowdy and dangerous, but if you stay safe and use common sense, you'll have a great time.
