Makronissos Kandi Beach Review:

Makronissos Kandi Beach is a beach in Aya Napa, Cyprus. It is located in the Kandi Bay, and is surrounded by the Domes Nature Reserve. It was the first beach in Cyprus to be awarded the prestigious Blue Flag.

Makronisos is a free beach located in the resort town of Ayia Napa on the island of Cyprus. The beach is covered with sand, the water is clear and has a turquoise hue. Makronisos has been awarded the prestigious international Blue Flag award, which speaks of the purity of the water and compliance with the conditions for safe bathing. The beach is located about 5 km from the city center, you rarely see it empty, but still, there are fewer people here than on the central beaches.

Pros:
Very beautiful beach with fantastic turquoise water and white sands. Due to its location, it's not crowded, which makes it a perfect place for calm relaxation.
Cons:
Beware the prices, 13 euro for a pizza would make a Neapolitan pizzaiolo commit suicide.

Summary:
Makronssos beach has very fine, almost white sand with clear blue water, it's just so inviting! You can pay for a sunbed with an umbrella or set up your towel on the sand. There are free shower facilities and a small café if you get hungry after your swim.

Weather:

You can relax in Ayia Napa all year round. The classic Mediterranean climate (subtropics) favors this. Winter in the city is warm, summer is hot, the off-season is short. Autumn comes in November, spring comes in February. The holiday season opens in April and lasts until November.

There are more than 320 sunny days a year. So, no matter what month you are going to Cyprus, take your sunglasses with you. In summer, the air temperature in Ayia Napa averages + 30–35 ° С during the day and + 20–25 ° С at night, in winter – + 15–17 ° С during the day and + 7–10 ° С at night. The heat peaks in July-August, but it is neutralized by refreshing sea breezes and high humidity.

There are no “rainy seasons” in Ayia Napa. There is practically no precipitation from May to October. Whether there will be enough rain in winter to fill freshwater reservoirs is one of the main topics of conversation in Cyprus. There are no large rivers on the island, and small ones dry up in summer. Artificial reservoirs are filled with desalination plants, snow melting in the mountains, and precipitation. But vacationers in Ayia Napa are not affected by this climate feature. There is enough drinking water for tourists.

Hotels nearby:

Ayia Napa has a variety of accommodation options to suit different budgets. For lovers of luxury relaxation, comfortable secluded villas with excellent living conditions are perfect. There are also hotels offering a high level of service. You can also find quite budget apartments with all the necessary amenities.
