Playa Dominicus is a world-famous, white-sand beach located on the southeast coast of the Dominican Republic. The beach is a popular tourist destination known for its clear turquoise waters and coral reefs. Visitors can enjoy a variety of water sports, including snorkeling, scuba diving, and windsurfing. The beach is also a great place to relax and soak up the sun.
Dominicus Beach is a little more developed than many of the other beaches in the area. It is home to several high-end hotels that were built in the mid-1990s.
The beach is located in Boca Chica, which is south of the capital city of Santo Domingo. The beach is a little more than an hour's drive from Santo Domingo. It is accessible by bus, car, or taxi.
The Dominicus beach area offers several restaurants, shops, and other tourist attractions. The beach is lined with some small hotels and resorts, which offer a variety of vacation packages and amenities.
The Dominicus beach area is also home to several small shops, stores, and restaurants. Visitors can enjoy the local Caribbean cuisine and a variety of international dishes. Visitors can enjoy a delicious meal at any of the area's restaurants before taking a stroll along the beach or going for a swim.
Dominicus Beach is also home to some local vendors who sell a variety of souvenirs and other local crafts. Visitors can stock up on gifts and other souvenirs from the area.
The Dominicus beach area is an excellent destination for relaxing and enjoying the Caribbean coastline.
A testament to the cleanliness, safety, and comfort of the beach is the Blue Flag badge, which was the first beach in the country to receive. And to this day, Dominicus “keeps the brand”, confirming the title of one of the best beaches. There is everything for a wonderful holiday: white fine sand, clear water of the azure Caribbean Sea, saving shade of tropical palms, and incredible beauty of nature.
Due to its subtropical location – the climate in the Dominican Republic is warm and humid – rest in the resorts of Dominicus is well received even by young travelers.
Dominicus, like many of the Dominican beaches, is popular in any season. Summer is considered a rainy season in these places, and the high season lasts from mid-December to April. However, the resort area of La Romana, and especially Dominicus and Bayahibe, are statistically considered the driest region of the country. The rains are rare and short-lived here. So you can plan a vacation on this beach for any time of the year.
The air temperature is kept at the level of + 28º… 33º all year round. The hottest months are from June to October. The sea warms up more strongly in the winter months – up to + 29º. In spring, the water temperature can drop by 3º-4º.
From Punta Cana, Dominicus is 70 km away. You can rent a car – there is a small parking near the beach – or you can take a taxi. The journey will take about an hour.
The beach is closed to La Romana, but it is also more convenient to travel by car. Public transport can also be reached, but you will have to change trains at Bayahibe.
From the village of Bayahibe, you can walk along the coastline. This is an option for those who like walking: the distance from the village to the beach is about 5 km.
