How to get to the Playa Bonita

Bonita Beach is easier to get to with a rented car. From the capital of the Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo, you can reach Las Terrenas via the Autopista Las Americas, Autopista del Nordeste, and Carr Juan Pablo II highways. There are paid sections along the route.

There are two public car parks near the beach. The first free parking is located at Cape Punta Bonita. A second car park can be found in the eastern part of Playa Bonita, close to Escondida beach.

The second option is a public bus ride from the original carrier Asotrapusa or Expreso Bavaro, which runs from the Santo Domingo bus station to the Las Terrenas bus station. The average journey time is 2 hours 15 minutes.

From Punta Cana, it is easier to get by plane to El Catey Airport, from where you can get to Las Terrenas by taxi (Uber or Cabify), a rented car, or a Guagua bus.
