Porto Ferro

Porto Ferro is a small village on the east coast of Sardinia, Italy, located about 5 km from Alghero. With a small population of 2,500 people, the village is the perfect getaway and a perfect destination for beachgoers.

The water in the Porto Ferro beach is a little brackish, but that doesn’t make it any less inviting. The water is warm, and there are plenty of lifeguards on duty to keep swimmers safe. The water is clean and clear, and the sand is white and soft.

The Porto Ferro beach has many amenities for vacationers, including a lifeguard tower, a volleyball net, changing rooms, showers, and a snack bar.

The Porto Ferro beach is a great place to bring up children, as the water is shallow and calm. It is also a great place for families to hang out and spend their day at the beach.

Located on the island of Sardinia, 17 km northwest of Alghero in the province of Sassari. There are many cities and towns around it, in which attractions attractive to tourists are concentrated. It is surrounded by towering dunes and coniferous forests that form a unique ecosystem.

The beach is a sandy area stretching for several kilometers. The sand has a rare reddish tint, which gives the coast a special charm. The coast smoothly turns into a sandy seabed, creating comfortable conditions for entering the water. With mild but steady winds blowing here, this area attracts surfers and windsurfers from all over the world. Although not only them.

This beach is notable for the fact that nudists like to relax here. They are located mainly in the northern part of the beach next to the White Tower. Porto Ferro is ranked 5th in the ranking of the most beautiful nudist beaches in Europe. It is equipped with everything you need – here you can rent umbrellas, sunbeds and even surfing equipment. But at the same time, it is still considered uncrowded when compared with other beaches in Sardinia.

Pros:
Sardinia is blessed with hundreds of beautiful beaches and this has to be one of the best in the Alghero area. Not busy, and a big sweeping bay of beautiful sand and some rocky areas for snorkeling. If crowded Benidorm-type beaches are not your thing this is your beach. Plenty of parking and a cafe for refreshment.
Cons:
Not deep.

Summary:
This is a very large beach. The largest part, closest to the car park, has beautiful sand and a small café. This beach is one of the few that is dog friendly.
